We understand that more than one-third of UK houses are harder to insulate because they have solid walls. Why then are grants available only for cavity wall insulation? We are 60 but cannot claim to insulate our very old solid house walls.

Having read a lot during the winter about insulation grants I'm wondering if these amounts of money that are meant to be, being given away by the Government on "Warm front" schemes and all that...........are they really "grants" or is there some of it that has to be paid back?
Thanks for any help on this
Did you know that you can get a hefty grant to get your insulation done? I didn't until DWCO2 told me. Great work guys!
