Energy Labelling

There are two ‘energy labels' that have been created to help you compare the energy efficiency of different products, and choose the most energy efficient. They are the EU Energy Label, and the Energy Saving Recommended logo.

Eu Energy Label

The EU Energy Label

The EU Energy Label must be shown on all fridges and freezers, washing machines, electric tumble dryers, washer dryers, dishwashers, electric ovens, air conditioners, lamps and light bulb packs. It rates the product according to its energy efficiency, from A (the most efficient) to G (the least efficient). For some appliances the rating system goes up to A++.

The Energy Saving Recommended Logo

This is an endorsement scheme run by the Energy Saving Trust in the UK, which awards the logo to the most energy efficient products in any category. It is a quick and easy way to identify the most energy efficient models.

All you need to do is look out for the appliances that feature this logo.
